My experience about catfishing
fake pictures used on social media |
What made me realise was that,
There are people who knew me from Facebook and some of them said" why do
you act like you don't know us, but on Facebook you keep telling us this and
that and now because we met in real life you pretend as if you don't know us", so it came to a point where I searched for that accounts, and I found that
there are operating account created by my names and the person using that
account keeps on photos shopping my pictures and post them on the wall of that
account so that people can comment on them.read more.
Ways to prevent catfishing
1. You don't have to disclose
your personal information online, use information that you won’t regret after
publishing, meaning that you have to be careful and think properly before you
post.
know who's calling you |
4. You need to make sure that you
are chatting with a person who does not hide himself or herself or an unknown
person, to be sure about that you have to use online videos so that you can be
able to see the person you are communicating with.

According to Urban Dictionary:
ReplyDelete"catfish...A catfish is someone who pretends to be someone they're not using Facebook or other social media to create false identities, particularly to pursue deceptive online romances."
"Catfishing" is doing this/getting caught up by someone who is doing it.
---------------------------
So, my question is: who's the one with the bigger psycho-social *problem*:
the catfish-er or the catfish-ee?
Seems to me the catfisher can't do it, if the fish wasn't so hungry...and swallowed the bait. ;)
thank you for advising me about catfishing thing , so that i can be well aware and chat responsible on social networks
ReplyDeleteYes man....Think before you publish. Don't ever publish about your personal life on social networks because you might end up loosing things that wouldn't be easy for you to have them back . E.g. Money, Relationships and etc...
DeleteThat's true man, It's a bad thing for the Catfishee in a way that people will only think that it is your account...no one will ever think that maybe someone is catfishing you.
ReplyDeleteit is true that you have to talk or communicate with people that you know and also you can use video call to chat and see who you are talking with because because have monstrous minds to ward other people.
ReplyDeleteIt is easy for young girls to fall to catfishing especially on dating sites, thinking that the person they talking with online is truly a genuine 13 year old like her whereas its an old 56 year old man targeting young girls. Thanks for showing us the dangers of catfishing lurking out there.
